LATERAL FIRE
RATED SHUTTER
Introduction
The LFRS is our lateral non-insulated fire rated roller shutter. Instead of vertical up and down movement, the LFRS moves laterally from side to side, which is left to right. This allows to LFRS to be able to cover bends and curves profiles of the building. The LFRS has a fire rating of 4 hour fire integrity. The LFRS maximum single width span is unlimited and maximum height is 8 meters. The LFRS is suitable for both indoor and outdoor usage.
Features
-
Tested to SS489:2015 & BS EN1634-1
-
Up to 4 hours of fire integrity
-
Manually operated by hand chain
-
Automatically operated by control box
-
Single span up to 30m x 4m in dimension
-
Upon activation, the alarm will release the brake, thus allowing the shutter to close under gravity
-
A fail safe mechanism that includes a fusible Link that melts at 69°C causing the shutter to slide down and close under gravity
-
Intelligent System (IS) has a built-in Brake Re-engagement Device that stops the shutter once it touches the ground
TECHNICAL DATA
Assembly
Shutter Curtain
The shutter curtain is formed by interlocking custom designed continuous electro-galvanised mild steel slats of thickness 0.8mm and an average slat pitch of 75mm.
Top Track
The top track shall consist of two 50mm x 50mm x 3mm thick angle bars anchored to the wall by wall plugs. A 3mm thick mild steel plate shall be welded to each of the angle bars. A 25mm x 25mm angle bar shall also be welded on the inside of each steel plate to support the roller system. The top track can be in a concave or convex shape with a minimum turning radius of 200mm.
Closing Track
It shall be made up of a 2mm thick mild steel ‘U’ channel with a nominal dimension of 50mm (width) x 75mm (depth).
Bottom Bar
It shall be made up of 75mm x 40mm x 0.8mm thick steel plate U channel capped and locked onto the last slat.
Manual Hand Chain
The hand chain is provided to manually operate the roller shutter curtains in times of power or motor failure. It consists of a gear reduction chain block.
Shutter Hood
The frame is fabricated from 40mm x 40mm steel hollow sections, with 0.8mm colourbond steel sheet cover. The shutter hood’s dimensions shall be between 950mm to 3100mm in width and 680mm to 2800mm in depth. The shutter hood shall consist of a steel end plate supporting a double layer spiral track to house the curtain. No pipe is required to coil up the curtain and only one motor shall be housed inside the shutter hood. It shall also consist of a gear which facilitates the motion of the shutter curtain.
Shutter Operation
Motor
Each fire shutter shall be equipped with only 1 motorized operator. The shutter operator is equipped with built-in limit switch, built-in thermal protector, built-in brake release system, manual hand chain, and one unit of 3-ways push button (Up, Stop, Down) switch with cylinder lock integrated in a stainless steel cover. The limit switch shall ensure the shutter stops automatically at desired levels. In the event of power failure, the shutter can be operated manually by pulling the hand chain.
Power Requirements
The power source shall be single phase 230V x 13amp or 3-Phase 415V x 20amp, 50Hz each depending on the size of the shutter.
Operating System
Motorized roller shutter can be operated by using the push button, which is located approximately 1.5metres above floor level without counter balance system.
