INSULATED FIRE
RATED CURTAIN
Introduction
Our Delta Technology Insulated Fire Rated Curtain (IFRC) is tested up to 4 hours fire rating integrity and 4 hours fire insulation. Our double layer curtains are design to compartmentalize and seal off the toughest fire outbreak; offering maximum protection against fire. During normal circumstances, the IFRC is always in the open position to allow traffic to pass. When there is a
fire outbreak, the curtains are closed via gravity through fusible link or fire alarm
activation.
The IFRC features a single drum system, meaning both of the double layer curtains will roll up onto a single barrel forming only 1 drum. This greatly reduce the overhead shutterhood size and only require 1 motor to operate.
The IFRC are commonly used in commerical & residential buildings, building voids, substations, transformer & switch rooms, drop off bay, underground passage way, carparks lobby, lift lobby and train/bus depots etc.
Features
-
Tested to SS489:2015 & BS EN1634-1
-
Up to 4 hours of fire integrity and fire insulation
-
Single span up to 15m x 8m in dimension
-
A fail safe mechanism that includes a fusible Link that melts at 69°C causing the shutter to slide down and close under gravity
-
Manually operated by hand chain
-
Automatically operated by control box
-
Upon activation, the alarm will release the brake, thus allowing the shutter to close under gravity
-
Intelligent System (IS) has a built-in Brake Re-engagement Device that stops the shutter once it touches the ground
TECHNICAL DATA
Assembly
Shutter Curtain
The shutter curtain shall consist of 2 layers thick woven ceramic fiber cloth filled with ceramic insulation fiber forming an air gap 280mm in between. The curtain shall be 20mm thick. The curtain shall be further reinforce with steel support an interval of 400mm across to ensure the sturdiness of the curtain.
Side Guides
The guide rails shall be electro-galvanized formed steel channel of not less than 2mm thick. The overall dimension of each guide is 80mm wide x 70mm deep. The distance between the front layer and back layer guide shall be no more than 230mm away.
Bottom Bar
The bottom bar shall be “I” shape with flat steel bar sandwich together with the ceramic fiber curtain slightly protruding out at the bottom to ensure full seal.
Roller Barrel
It shall only consist of a single heavy-duty steel pipe, forming only a single barrel. The drive assembly is made up of steel circular plates fitted to the steel solid shaft round bar on one end and a circular plate with tri-legged slot on the other end.
Shutter Hood
The entire frame shall be constructed with 40mm x 40mm and 20mm x 20mm steel square hollow section forming a truss structure. The shutter hood shall be no more than 650mm in height and 1125mm in depth. The driven sprocket shall be attached onto the end plate with a protruding tri-legged holder for the barrel. The shutter hood shall only house a single barrel accommodating 2 layers of ceramic fibre curtain. There shall be multiple of 30mm steel roller of 1000mm and 500mm to ensure the smooth operation of the ceramic fibre curtain. The frame shall be cladded with a minimum of 0.8mm thick steel sheet.
Shutter Operation
Motor
Each fire shutter shall be equipped with only 1 motorized operator. The shutter operator is equipped with built-in limit switch, built-in thermal protector, built-in brake release system, manual hand chain, and one unit of 3-ways push button (Up, Stop, Down) switch with cylinder lock integrated in a stainless steel cover. The limit switch shall ensure the shutter stops automatically at desired levels. In the event of power failure, the shutter can be operated manually by pulling the hand chain.
Power Requirements
The power source is a single phase 230V x 13amp or 3-Phase 415V x 20amp, 50Hz each depending on the size of the shutter.
Operating System
Motorized roller shutter can be operated by using the push button, which is located approximately 1.5 meters above floor level without counter balance system.
Fusible Link
The fusible link is a mechanical mechanism which activates the shutter to close and isolate fire when the fuse with a melting point of 69-degree Celsius melts. It descends the shutter down via gravity and gradually stopped upon closing for safety reasons.
